Leave it to The Hourly Radio to release the best cover I’ve heard all year, 11 days before 2006 is complete! For the record and those keeping score at home, my other favorite covers of the year include (but are not limited to) Final Fantasy’s cover of Mariah’s ‘Fantasy’, The Walkmen’s crack on ‘Many Rivers To Cross’ and The Gaskets’ live-staple ‘Got My Mind Set On You’.

The Hourly Radio JUST sent us their acoustic take on the James classic, ‘Say Something’, and it’s fucking genius. The band somehow manages to keep the simplicity of the original recording while evolving it into something that would have fit beautifully as a hidden track to their debut History Will Never Hold Me. Incredible!
