Maybe this is just me… and it’s probably also old news. But lovely lovely Sophie Ellis Bextor has a new record, Trip the Light Fantastic coming out later this year. And I’m excited. Very excited. Very excited indeed.

I’ve loved Sophie ever since the days of The Audience; as I’ve probably waxed lyrically before, her voice just absolutely gets me and I don’t think there are many of her songs at all that don’t make me want to get up and dance; it’s all vital, life affirming stuff. Better than (dare I say it)… the might of SClub.* I’ve heard a few samples from the new record and all I can say is that it’s the typically dancelicious stuff that I’ve come to expect… and I’m utterly stoked to hear the rest. Hurrah!
