Last night marked my official introductions to The End Of The World’s glorious sophomore effort, French Exit & Webster Hall’s brand new 300 capacity venue, The Studio. The former was predictably incredible while the latter was surprisingly so. With a sound that brings to mind The Walkmen’s Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone, Pavement’s Crooked Rain Crooked Rain & The French Kicks’ One Time Bells, The End Of The World’s latest LP plays like an instant classic. Alluring, genuine & consuming, French Exit will surely be placed upon my shortlist of best Brooklyn based albums of the year. Visit TEOTW at their MySpace page. MP3 at bottom of post.
