A few years back I regrettably labeled Mystery Jets as just another post-post-post Britpop act. It’s for this reason that I’ve paid scant attention to the London based four piece. That is, until last night. The band’s brilliant 75 minute set far exceeded my ridiculously low expectations. Donned in gold bedazzled outfits that would’ve easily made The Golden Girls cry out with joy, Mystery Jets were simply riveting from start to finish. I’m not sure if I’d deem Mystery Jets as an edgy version of The Kooks or perhaps as a sassier cousin of The Rumble Strips. Either way, Mystery Jets won me over in a major way.
