I have written a new rock musical about the Bard and many of his delightful characters. The play is divided into five one acts. The songs include Macbeth’s singing Is This A Dagger or Mick Jagger?, Lear, singing a blusey rendition of I’m More Foolish Than My Fool, and Shylock singing Just because I’m A Jew just to name a few. The first one act has Macbeth, Lear, Othello and Hamlet in a modern day mental institution discussing their problems with power and sex. The next one act has Shylock bringing his case on appeal to the US circuit court of appeals, the third one act has Lady Macbeth, Cleopatra, Constance and Desdemona taking the Bard hostage and demanding he explain to them and the audience why they have less lines than their male counterparts. The fourth one act has all the parties involved in the War of the Roses trying to explain their sides of the story to the modern audience. and the final act has Aaron, Richard III and Iago in a modern western explaining the reaswons they are so bad. Have an ELIZABONICS interpreter named Cliff Notius who periodically appears on stage to explain to the audience words like hoyday, go to, wot minime. Shakespeare even sings a song called The Iambic pentameter Rag Would love to send copy for you to peruse
