Back at SXSW 2008, I saw a brief yet highly enjoyable set from the Manchester based quartet known as The Answering Machine. Since that afternoon (nearly thirteen months ago), I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of their debut LP (Another City Another Sorry). That album will finally see daylight later this spring and I can assure you, it’ll surely go down as one of my favorites of ’09. Last night (TAM’s NYC debut), The Answering Machine performed a bulk of the aforementioned release and it sounded glorious. Watch their official video for ‘Cliffer’ here. awesome show, i ended up getting 1 of the 3 remaining ” cliffer 7″ from the manager because the band was no where to be found after their set, so he went back to the merch table and got one for me. looking forward to seeing them again tonight as wel!
