After Suckers completed their first track of last night’s performance, a friend turned to me and uttered one word: ‘epic’. He is dead right. Highlighted by a single bright yellow light at one end of the stage and by a single bright pink light at the opposite end, Suckers played a truly mind-blowing set that brought to mind all of the following artists: T. Rex, Animal Collective & Yeasayer. The latter probably makes the most sense as their self-titled debut EP was produced by Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder. Unabashedly terrific!
