All the way back in November of 2006 (during CMJ), I witnessed a truly wretched set from The Horrors. Following that undeniably disastrous performance, I promised myself that I’d never subject myself the UK based act ever again. However, earlier this year, The Horrors threw me for a loop. They released a surprisingly stunning sophomore effort entitled Primary Colours (produced by Portishead’s Geoff Barrow). Over the course of the last few months, I’ve fallen head over heels for the Mercury Prize nominated LP. So much so, that I figured I’d give The Horrors another shot. Last night’s gig was not only leaps & bounds better than their ’06 nightmare, it was downright epic. In fact, I’m still in awe. Imagine what Joy Division would have sounded like in 1984. Are you intrigued yet? Official TMS Rating: 10/10. Watch ‘Mirror’s Image’ here. Catch The Horrors on their NA journey.

Where’s my lover?!
his pic wasn’t good enough for the post :)
His everything is good enough for me. Please send the crouching shot with the pick in mouth.
the encore was not their song but a cover of Suicide’s ‘Ghost Rider’ …and well done to boot
I am also very much appreciating the sound of Primary Colors – it is in fact feeling more like their Shadazz EP than their first album (Strange House), although they were saying in an interview that that EP was not an indication of things to come…
