1. What are your three most cherished albums of 2009?
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca & Shakira - She Wolf! I just heard Shakira’s new album for the first time the other day. The lyrics are brilliant AND hilarious. I dig her.
2. What are your three favorite songs to perform nowadays?
‘Good Luck’, ‘Dead Passengers’ & ‘The Word Girl’ (by Scritti Politti).

3. Can you name some Norwegian artists that don’t receive the international attention that they properly deserve?
Casiokids, Sissy Wish, House Of Hiss, Ungdomskolen, Real Ones, Julian Berntzen, Sergeant Petter, The Royalties, Mari Persen, Major 7 & The Minors.
4. How do you feel about A-Ha’s split?
I’m sad that we won’t be seeing them together for a while but this is showbiz so I’m not that worried. A break is probably a good idea now. Paul from A-Ha’s solo band, Savoy, should actually be on my list of Norwegian acts you should hear! I’m hoping that they’ll do more albums now!
5. How does Heartbeat Radio differ from your previous albums?
It’s got a whole bunch of directions that all feel essential to me, instead of just a couple. And the songs can handle any type of weather!
6. What’s your drink of choice?
I like that blueberry beer they have at The Lodge. Prosecco for some sparkle!
7. How does it feel to be a Norwegian living in Brooklyn?
I absolutely love living in Brooklyn! I have a lot of friends here that I really appreciate and people are up to fun stuff all the time.
8. Are there any misconceptions that you’d like to clear up?
The patronizing assumption from some show folk who don’t get my lyrics that it’s because I’m foreign and don’t know any better.
