1. How would you describe Still Flyin’ in twenty words or less?

Group. Music. Jamz. Not hippy jamz. Life jamz. Pals. High fives. Dance party. Regular party. Brain burn. Brews. Coolers. Etc.

2. What’s the inspiration behind the video for ‘The Hott Chord…’?

That video is some high-concept stuff. I’m bored and watching TV with my dog and the video for ‘The Hott Chord Is Struck’ comes on and I get really excited and call the rest of the band in the room to watch it. The viewer is watching the band watch the video, which is essentially the viewer. We are looking at you watching us. META.

3. Which city has been the most receptive to SF’s live show?

We do well in Australia, especially Melbourne. If you want one in the US, I’d say Brooklyn is consistently our funnest place to play. They’re down for a jam.

4. Can you kindly list a few dream collaborators?

Matthew McConaughey on bongos is the ultimate dream; always has been. Some other killer collab-jammers include Huey Lewis, Huey Lewis’s band, Ricky Williams and Chris Cooley.

5. Are there any San Fran based acts that we should know?

Our pals, The Mantles, are starting to get hyped a lot – they’re really great. I also like Nodzzz a lot.

6. What are you currently listening to?

Raf – Self Control, Laura Branigan – Self Control & Gloria, Baltimora – Tarzan Boy, Bruce Hornsby – Every Little Kiss, Kurtis Blow – The Breaks.

7. What are your plans & goals for 2010?

We’ve got a new single that just came out and a 12″ coming out in June and another single coming out in September. We’re really excited about all this stuff. It’s another layer in our musical lasagna.

8. Are there any misconceptions that you’d like to clear up?

Never. We like misconceptions and false rumors. With a band with a lot of members who use the word “jam” a lot it tends to happen. Just gotta embrace everything that comes to you.
