Quick! Before auntie beeb takes it away from you, pop on over to BBC 6 music’s website to listen to the excellent John Peel’s Scottish Sessions.

Peel was a great supporter of an amazing range of Scottish music, and this is a wonderful exploration by his son Tom Ravenscroft and with contributions from members of Franz Ferdinand, Belle & Sebastian and other members of the Scottish indie aristocracy. Peel’s support for bands like The Delgados and Mogwai is a real factor in all of those bands’ success. I’ve lost count of the number of great live Peel Sessions I’ve picked up as part of official releases by groups (Arab Strap’s recent reissues being a case in point).
You’ve got 1 day still to listen to episode 1, and 2 days to listen to episode 2.
BBC 6 Music: John Peel’s Scottish Sessions (most likely UK only, sorry!)
