The Lisps’ Secret Salon

Saturday night, we made our way over to the secret location, only issued to those who rsvp’d to The Lisps’ second salon. On the evening’s roster were the bands Art Sorority for Girls, Agent Ribbons and of course, The Lisps. As this was our second time attending the Salon, we knew what was in store- an evening of good music coupled with an easy, unpretentious and fun atmosphere in a space that can only be described as Alice in Wonderland meets The Old Curiosity Shop.

Agent Ribbons are a refreshingly all girl band. Not in the sense of “oh well isn’t that gimmicky and fun” but in the sense that it is nice to see three girls, all mixing perfectly together who can all play instruments exceedingly well (unlike say, the Vivian Girls). Their music is a mix of folk, punk and gypsy.

The Lisps we know and love on this site and seeing them is like coming home at this point. Talking with singer Cesar before the show, he revealed that their new album is set for release early next year.
