Autumn, Again with A Sunny Day in Glasgow

Philadelphia’s A Sunny Day in Glasgow have released their 3rd LP and you can download it for free until the end of Autumn – although you can also choose to support the group by making a donation and by purchasing a copy of the record on luscious, luscious maroon vinyl.

A Sunny Day in Glasgow – Autumn, Again

I haven’t listened to the record much, but first impressions are of a warm and hazy set that’s nonethess bearing some great moments of clarity and with structure embedded in each song. Brushes with electronica support sighing, ethereal vocals; and song titles such as “Petition to refrain from Repetition”, “Violet Mary Haunts me OR Loss of Forgetfulness on Renfrew Street” and “This assclown eats ambien OR Nobody likes you (No Art)” hint at an airey, knowing cleverness; while “Sigh, inhibitionist (Come all day with me)”, “How does somebody say when they like you?”, and “Calling it love isn’t love (Don’t fall in love)” are indicative of a kind of bittersweet emotional engagement.

MP3: A Sunny Day in Glasgow, “How does somebody say when they like you?”
