UK people: tonight/early tomorrow Channel 4 will be beginning the 3-part The Strummerville Sessions, a new miniseries covering emerging musical talent. The show is based around the music charity Strummerville, which was set up in honour of Joe Strummer to create opportunities for new acts.
Starting Monday night (going into Tuesday morning), Strummerville presents a three part series, directed by Don Letts and presented by Jaime Winstone, featuring performances and interviews with six of the best emerging talent in the UK right now.
The series has been shot across the past six months at the Strummerville Festival Campfire sessions, the Westway Round the UK tour and the Strummerville Notting Hill carnival party.
Episode 1 is centered around Strummerville’s annual Nottinghill Carnival Party and features interviews and performances from Rum Shebeen and The Riff Raff.
The show will be on at 12.45am on the 26th this evening/tomorrow and then:
Episode 2: Thursday 4th Nov at 00.30 (Wednesday night / Thursday morning)
Episode 3: Thursday 11th Nov at 00.10 (Wednesday night / Thursday morning)
Other acts being included during the series will be The Supernovas, Beans On Toast, Molotov Jukebox and Thee Deadtime Philharmonic.
