Noah and the Whale Release New Track

From Noah and the Whale’s upcoming album Last Night on Earth (March 2011) comes the song ‘Wild Thing’ that besides the obvious similarities of name to Lou Reed’s ‘Take a walk on the wild side,’ has a similar dark, punk feel to it along with the added melodies of Leonard Cohen. You can take a listen to the song on the below player (you may need to download Adobe Flash) or grab the mp3 after the jump.

Superb stuff! That guitar sound is becoming a real trademark of theirs.. They played a brilliant show at Manchester Cathedral earlier this year…and they’re back again at the Deaf Institute at the end of March..

I miss the more cheerful Noah and the Whale. This song sounds like most of the First Days of Spring songs

I agree with Yizz insofar as it wouldn’t be out of place on the First Days of Spring album but for me that’s no bad thing; it’s a classic album and I’d love to see them perform it in its entirety.

Just made “Wild Thing” my “Swell Tune” today: http://mrshuffleupagus.blogspot.com/2011/01/todays-swell-tune-wild-thing.html If Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” were a photo, this song would be its negative.
