From Noah and the Whale’s upcoming album Last Night on Earth (March 2011) comes the song ‘Wild Thing’ that besides the obvious similarities of name to Lou Reed’s ‘Take a walk on the wild side,’ has a similar dark, punk feel to it along with the added melodies of Leonard Cohen. Superb stuff! That guitar sound is becoming a real trademark of theirs.. They played a brilliant show at Manchester Cathedral earlier this year…and they’re back again at the Deaf Institute at the end of March..
I miss the more cheerful Noah and the Whale. This song sounds like most of the First Days of Spring songs

I agree with Yizz insofar as it wouldn’t be out of place on the First Days of Spring album but for me that’s no bad thing; it’s a classic album and I’d love to see them perform it in its entirety.
