Friday night, I headed over to the ambiguous area between Park Slope and Gowanus to see a rare and intimate gig with Sweden’s Peter Bjorn & John at The Rock Shop.
Now besides the fact that it was taking place in a room with a capacity of 120, this wasn’t your normal PB&J gig, there was no ‘Young Folks,’ no ‘Amsterdam.’ Instead, the trio played the entirety of their new album, Gimme Some, set for release on March 29th. The band have already previewed two tracks from the lp, ‘Second Chance’ (available after the jump) and ‘Breaker Breaker’ (video below), both of which are wonderful and infectious but hearing the album as a whole, proved that we’re in for another strong album from the band.

At The Rock Shop, there is no where to hide for a band looking to end a set, so when the band went off stage, a persistant crowd brought them back up again to perform first, Twisted Sister‘s ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ (which was just adorable by the sweet Swedes) then ‘Objects of My Affection’ from their 2006 album Writer’s Block.
