Art Brut, those avant garde indie rockers from Britain, are back again. And just when I was combing their video archives, lamenting their absence. Their new album, out May 27th, is called Brilliant! Tragic! and was produced by Black Francis. Their first single is ‘Lost Weekend,’ which fans of the band will recognize as a deviation from their usual talk/sing motif. On ‘Lost Weekend,’ Eddie Argos attempts a little more singing in a gravelly voice that feels contrary to the lighter music and not entirely successful (I say with sorrow). The band are currently on tour in the US and Canada.
