matt pond PA were at their absolute best on the glorious full-length, Emblems. It was beautiful, dynamic, infectious, and perfectly delivered. It seems a long shot that MPPA will ever top it, and in fact, that album seems to have shown us all the tricks that this band has. We have seen the best they have to offer.

And we continue to see it.

The brand new EP, Spring Fools, showcases that matt pond PA still at it, having evolved no further, and still as lovely as ever. Any song on this EP could replace any song on Emblems and it would be just as strong an album. At times lush, sparse, dense, dancey, introspective, etc..this EP is also showcasing that the band’s creative wingspan is still as broad as ever.
