Hitting* the internets to support the release of their fourth LP Eye Contact is this session from Gang Gang Dance, recorded in sleepy Englandshire in a 20ft mirrored room. Wait what?
A 20ft mirrored room. Cripes. Presumably the eye contact Gang Gang Dance like to make is with themselves. According to 4AD this was all “Inspired by the so-called ‘infinity rooms’ of the seminal Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama” although part of me can’t help but think that the band just had a blast playing in front of an endless audience of themselves disappearing into the void of infinite regression…. Regardless, it’s a total complement to the echoing soundscapes of the 4 songs in the session.
