Via BBC: *A pair of glasses worn by former Beatle John Lennon have sparked a bidding war after being offered for sale online. The trademark circular sunglasses were worn by Lennon during the Beatles’ 1966 tour of Japan, where the band played some of their last ever live dates.
Anonymous rival bidders have already pushed the price as high as £750,000 at online auction house 991.com. “The interest has been phenomenal,” said sales director John Warner. “Our phones have been in meltdown. It’s almost impossible to put a value on them,” he added. “They’re the rarest of the rare.”

Oh, you read correctly. More from Billboard: Few people can sing like Whitney Houston. But next week, anyone with some spare cash can dress like the Grammy winner, right down to one of her black velvet bustiers, and croon into one of her microphones.
Those items and more than 300 others from a 1999 world tour, including grand pianos, drum kits and a forklift, will be auctioned Jan. 9 in an effort to cover unpaid storage fees on the gear and clothing, said Jeffrey Campisi, a lawyer for Speed of Sound, a company that has been tending to the equipment. The tour gear, which includes speakers, amplifiers and a vintage barber chair along with designer clothes, has been stored in Irvington, N.J., since the tour, Campisi said.
Of COURSE they were in New Jersey!
How much will these items go for? Does anybody really want Whitney’s forklift?

Via NME: Badly Drawn Boy is to auction off a car fitted with a piano.
The 1980 Triumph Dolomite, which featured in the video to ‘Nothing’s Going To Change Your Mind’, has a piano in place of the engine and dashboard. However, the piano is just a prop and the car is not roadworthy due to its lack of a steering wheel or engine.
Badly Drawn Boy is auctioning the car on eBay in aid of Oxfam, as part of their Oxjam month-long music festival. The auction closes on October 15 at 7pm.
