Basement Jaxx – Oh My Gosh (Bugz In The Attic Remix)
It’s been far too long since I last touted BJ.
That ends abruptly today.
Check out the video for ‘OMG’ here. Remix below.
The dynamic duo tells BBC the following regarding Yoko Ono: “We ended up doing a couple of things, once I started listening to her stuff. I think she was miles ahead. She should be on the new album. I mean, we haven’t finished any tracks at the moment, but we are working on her things.”
Their thoughts on Grace Jones: “We have been trying to work with her for years, but she keeps disappearing, her manager said she was up for it before.”
A new Basement Jaxx album (potentially a double!) is expected to be released in the spring of next year.
MP3: Basement Jaxx – Red Alert (Jaxx Club mix) (removed by request)
Seeing Basement Jaxx last night was sure as hell a great concert to welcome me back to New York City. My only question is, why wasn’t that shit sold out? Do people just like Basement Jaxx a lot less than I assume (and the concert promoters assume as well since the second night was cancelled and all tickets from that day honoured last night and it still wasn’t sold out)?

Before Basement Jaxx came on, a cute guy came up to me and asked if I knew where he could find a good time. In my naivite, I thought he was flirting with me. Since I am not so good with the flirty banter, I said “yeah, maybe. What do you have?” That’s when he said money and apparently that he had been waiting six years for this concert. I am going to go ahead and assume he was asking to buy drugs from me and not anything that is going to make me want to break his legs. I apologised and said no but couldn’t help yelling after him when he walked away “Do I look like I have a good time?!” He shrugged and smiled. Damn he was cute, but my good times are the kind that can’t be sold.
I think Basement Jaxx are sponsored by Puma. Even their costumes had Puma details.
As per usual, Webster is overrun with Limeys. Attention NYC British: There are other venues.
Hurrah for Scotland! The brass section all wore kilts and sporans with white t-shirts and sneakers. I LOVE boys in kilts with a t-shirt and trainers.
Slightly perturbed by the Guerrilla fighter outfits. Hasta la victoria siempre!
