When word broke earlier this afternoon that I’d have the opportunity catch an impromptu & acoustic Ryan Adams gig at a tiny SoHo bistro (with a capacity of just 50 people), I had no choice but to hop in a cab, brave the freezing rain and plant a spot up front. Today marks the release of Ryan’s latest opus, Cardinology, and his 8 song set (alongside The Cardinals) served as an unofficial celebration. Complete with random banter, countless requests and even post show phone calls (per the desires of some overzealous attendees), the event felt like a very early holiday gift.
