Donned in full costume and accompanied by a full band (including brass players, a pianist & a beat-boxer), CocoRosie performed their first NYC gig in over two years. And it was magical. Intertwining selections from each of their three albums and highlighting a handful of new tracks, the 85 minute set was surely a breath of fresh air. The evening closed with a seemingly random yet undoubtedly stunning cover of Boyz II Men’s ‘It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday’. CocoRosie’s new LP should see daylight by early 2010 and I’m officially waiting with heavily baited breath! Visit CocoRosie on MySpace.
