Gorillaz – Dare (DFA remix)

In true DFA fashion, this remix of Gorillaz’ ‘Dare’ features ample cowbell, a penetrating beat and a clock-in time of close to ten minutes. Would you expect anything less from James Murphy & the gang?

Enjoy the funky remix below.

Black Dice Parts With DFA, Joins Paw Tracks

The NY-based experimental, noise/dance troupe is back with their fourth proper release, Load Blown, out this October. The album’s press release promises the following: *The beats drip and roll, tar-pit voices sing into an oil can, and the guitars crank like calliope. Some tunes crackle and burble like submerged television, others bump and click along like a Summer Jam concert series from another dimension.* I’m holding them to that!

Full track listing, cover art & MP3 below. Learn more about Animal Collective’s label, Paw Tracks, here.

Kokomo. Roll Up. Gore. Bottom Feeder. Scavenger. Drool. Toka Toka. Cowboy Soundcheck. Bananas. Manoman.

Today In WTF, Part 2: Diddy + DFA?

OK, I’ve officially heard/seen/witnessed it all.

The always wonderful, Spinner, directs us to Diddy’s new track ‘Tell Me’, as remixed by James Murphy (Mr. LCD Soundsystem) and the gang over at DFA! I hate to admit it, but this but it sounds pretty damn good too.

But that should come as no surprise, as James can turn anything into gold, or, err, silver, har har.

For those living under multiple rocks, LCD Soundsystem has 2 sold out shows booked at Bowery Ballroom for the end of March. See you there! Oh, and you can hear the Diddy/DFA track, here!

What’s next today? A Norah Jones/George Clinton duet? *Don’t forget, James Murphy wants to be on top of the charts in March!*
