This one dates back to M.I.A.’s early days. In particular, the closing track to her much-loved demo, Piracy Funds Terrorism. ‘Bingo’ was later featured on her proper debut (Arular), with all samples removed from the official recording. However, there’s something about hearing M.I.A. rapping over Jay-Z’s anthemic, ‘Big Pimpin’, that you can’t help but enjoy. Before the world got its official taste of Show Your Bones‘ 1st single, ‘Gold Lion’, this pre-released remix was absolutely ubiquitous. Now, 18 months since its debut, the reinterpretation stands the test of time quite nicely.
