Questlove seemed dubious. Earlier in the evening, he had tweeted “based on their setup and sound… imma take a wild guess dirty projectors are from BK”? But then last night, not two tweets later, Quest posted a twitvid with the tag line “Man. Dirty Projectors came into our room and demonstrated their awesomeness. How cool is it for them to do this”? Seems the avant indie group, who are indeed from Brooklyn, saw his tweet and came in to change his mind. They piled into his dressing room and performed ‘The Bride’ from their latest album Bitte Orca for The Roots clan, which Quest recorded on his phone for us all to see. Check it out below.
Embarrassing story confession? Dirty Projectors played on New Year’s Eve for After the Jump two years ago at Knitting Factory and I came upon a solo David Longstretch strumming in the green room. I introduced him to a friend I was with and called him DANIEL. Sigh.
