I am really excited for this tour. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts was the first concert I ever went to and it still rates amongst my top 5 shows. Joan Jett may not be 20 anymore, but I think she rocks harder than ever.
Not to mention, I’m also a fan of Eagles of Death metal. I wasn’t able to see them when they came to NYC a few months ago so the fall tour will be a good time to catch up with the band.
Tickets for the entire tour went onsale August 19th and are available through ticketmaster (all except the October 29th Colorado gig which is on ticketweb.com). The NYC Irving show isn’t sold out and clocks in at $34 a pop.

The music most often blaring from my ipod is the kind of stuff that makes me want to dance in the street. I’m a rocker chick at heart, my favourite band is Queen and I own every Bruce Springsteen album. So it is no surprise that when I heard Eagles of Death Metal I went, “F*CK YEAH!” I saw them on TV at T in the Park this summer and loved the dirty rockabilly look and sound. When I had to sell my Strokes tickets, I was more disappointed that I wouldn’t get to see them than The Strokes.
The group is made up of Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and friends and they have a new video out for the song ‘I want you so hard.’ It features famous friends Jack Black (who got married last week, congrats dude) and Dave Grohl. Check it out, it’s a bit weird but funny. You can also catch some rockin tracks on their MySpace and download ‘Speaking in tongues’.
