The DC based quintet recently tackled a Peter Tosh tune.
My fave Exit Clov track will always be ‘MK Ultra’.

Here’s how the story goes: *Penned and performed by Susan & Emily Hsu (of Exit Clov), ‘Inamorati’ also features the voices of fellow district songstresses Laura Burhenn (ex-Georgie James) and May Tabol (Pree, ex-Le Loup). John Thayer of Exit Clov also plays percussion on the studio track. The song’s live debut took place at the Washington Social Club’s 2007 holiday extravaganza at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. Last month, Susan & Emily decided to hit the studio with Laura and May. Eamonn Aiken recorded the song; Devin Ocampo (Medications) mixed and mastered.*

It’s a DC extravaganza! Exit Clov explains the event on their official site: *Saturday, Dec. 15: Emily + Susan will be guesting on a song with Washington Social Club at their Xmas show at the 9:30 Club. Word on the street is that a bunch of DC musicians will be on hand to spread musical Christmas cheer, including Jukebox the Ghost, Laura Burhenn & members of Le Loup. Em + Suz will also be performing a song of their own with special guests! Come join us … Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…*
Friday night marked my third visit to Jukebox The Ghost(town). In addition to a rousing set at the day portion of After The Jump Festival, the trio also piqued my interest during an earlier visit to Pianos back in March (review here). Now, nearly five months have passed and Jukebox The Ghost has lined up a spectacular residency at the L.E.S. haven.
At the opening evening of Jukebox’s well-received stay, the DC-based band not only packed the house but also won over a slew of stoic and/or jaded Le Loup fans planted firmly within the first few rows. Jukebox’s 45-minute set highlighted their lone EP as well as some new tunes and a handful of diligently-chosen covers. Absolutely ace. Catch Jukebox this Friday with A Brief Smile & Wakey! Wakey! or the following Friday with Mason Proper & Sure Juror. Learn more about Jukebox here at the band’s MySpace page.
Following Jukebox was the District quintet that majestically lit up The Music Slut’s Holiday Show of ’06 – Exit Clov! The group was in fine form as always, treating attendees to a combination of old favorites and new tracks to be featured on their forthcoming as-of-yet untitled LP. I can’t urge you enough to check out Exit Clov. Should you choose to follow my advice, then hop to the EC’s official site here. Download an Exit Clov MP3 at bottom.
