Here’s the official word: *Canadian singer Leslie Feist is the winner of the Seventh Annual Shortlist Music Prize for her album The Reminder. Feist is the second female artist to win the prize, following Cat Power who won the award last year. In a statement, Listmaker Gary Lightbody called The Reminder “the album of the year for 2007 or any year I can think of: it’s modern and classic all at once.”*
The Canadian chanteuse tells Billboard: *”I’m tiptoeing into some new terrain. There’s no necessity and no timeline. ‘The Reminder,’ I can’t say it just came out, but it feels like it did. I’m not quite at the point where I think I should be thinking about another record. These songs, there’s nothing forcing them to come, yet here’s some ideas. It’s really a ways away though.”* Read the rest of the article here.
