For fans of: Andrew Bird, Sufjan Stevens, Ryan Adams: Heartbreaker, Red House Painters, Iron & Wine, Radiohead: ‘Exit Music’, Fleet Foxes. If you adore Canadians, indie-folk & sweet melodies, then say hello to your new favorite act. It’s with great sadness that I admit to Great Lake Swimmers falling under my radar over the last few years. Upon hearing their latest album, Lost Channels, a few weeks back, I fell instantly in love (and consequently regretted my absent mindedness). Their entire catalog is unabashedly stunning, charming & tender. Last night’s heartfelt/moving set far exceeded my lofty expectations. I strongly suggest catching GLS on the tailend of their current North American trek. Europeans can see the band next month alongside Sharon Van Etten. Last week, Great Lake Swimmers dropped by WNRN. Watch their official clip for ‘Pulling On A Line’ here.
