Jamiroquai: Virtual History

It’s a sad sad say for oversized hats everywhere.

Pop legend Jay Kay has admitted he is giving up music after getting bored of touring with JAMIROQUAI. The SPACE COWBOY singer has claimed he is sick of the industry, despite recently breaking the world record for the highest gig after performing in a Boeing 757, 35,000ft in the air.

And JAY KAY, who has sold over 27 million records worldwide, says that he is now interested in meeting a “good woman” and having kids. Speaking to the Mirror at the mile-high gig, JAY KAY admitted he hasn’t been happy for a while. He said: “I’ve had some ups and downs but in the end the downs were just too many. When we talked about me leaving, I jumped at the chance.”

The singer, famed for his love of fast cars, funky tunes and big hats, added: “I’m bored. I don’t want to go back on the road. We all need a rest to be honest. I don’t need the money or a deal.” And the 37-year-old is also getting broody, after seeing his guitarist recently have a baby, but is still looking for his COSMIC GIRL. Nevertheless, JAY KAY hasn’t completely closed the door on his career, adding: “I might be back if I get my inspiration again, but who knows.” (via ContactMusic)

To this day, I still love the videos for ‘Virtual Insanity’ and ‘Canned Heat’. Sue me!

Jamiroquai Is A Space Cowboy; Cold War Kids Add THIRD Bowery Show For April!

Remember Jay Kay of Jamiroquai? Sure you do. Well, seems like he’s just desperate for some press lovin’ and has decided to play a gig in an airplane for 200 celebs later this year. Seriously? Here’s the news straight out of MTV UK: Jamiroquai have announced details of an ultra wacky gig. The band will play on board a customised Boeing 757…The guys will play onboard an aeroplane, 35,000ft in the air, to an audience of 200 people, on February 27 - and we are promised there’ll be a heap of A-listers on the special flight.

The aptly named Gig in the Sky event, which will be played on a specially modified Boeing 757, will set the world record for the highest ever concert. Jay Kay, has said: “No one’s ever done a gig like this before. Rock and roll is all about pushing back the boundaries and The Gig in the Sky certainly does that.”

What the hell? Anyway, in other news, Cold War Kids have SOLD OUT their 2 Bowery shows in early April and a 3rd date will go on sale tomorrow via Ticketweb. Crazy, right?

Waiting... One of the things that gets under my skin is having to wait for a music download to finish. I usually end up playing something silly, like online bingo or some other flash game, while I'm trying to kill some time. It's an easy way to kill 10 minutes while waiting.
