Nearly two full months after Junior Senior’s brief-yet-gleeful US tour (pics & setlist from the Highline Ballroom gig can be found here), a clip of the band’s brand new track, ‘Trust Tissue’, has made its way onto YouTube. Enjoy the ditty + an old-school MP3 below.

Once every seven hundred days, Denmark’s Junior Senior takes New York City by storm and then disappears for another two-year span. Last night marked the duo (complete with backing band and vocalists!)’s first visit since 2005′s remarkable Mercury Lounge gig. The day could not have come any sooner for a JS mega-fan such as myself.
There are a few variables you can almost always count on at a Junior Senior show – silly dancing, infectious tunes, and huge smiles planted on all faces within the venue. Last night we were treated to all of that plus a guest appearance by Le Tigre’s JD Samson!
JD came out to sing her part in ‘Can I Get Get Get’, in addition to hopping around the stage during the closing encore of D-D-Don’t Stop The Beat‘s ‘White Trash’.
Last night’s set was a no fuss run-though of the best tracks from Junior Senior’s debut LP as well as their sophomore effort, Hey Hey My My Yo Yo, complete with one jolly new track, ‘Trust Tissue’. Here’s hoping their next visit will come sooner than 2009. Enjoy some more photos, the complete setlist an old-school Junior Senior MP3 below.

God bless Junior Senior. Along with last week’s thrilling news that the duo’s sophomore disc, Hey Hey My My Yo Yo, will finally get a US release this August, comes a brand new animated video for one of the album’s catchiest tracks, ‘Take My Time’. Check it out below. The Music Slut is in love. Hear more Junior Senior (including a DFA remix of D-D-Don’t Stop The Beat‘s infamous tune, ‘Shake Your Coconuts’) over at their MySpace page. The band will embark on a full US tour (their first in many years) this summer. Tickets for their August 13th show at NYC’s Highline Ballroom are available NOW via this link. Get a pair before they’re all gone!
Billboard is reporting that Junior Senior’s sophomore album, the ridiculously fun, Hey Hey My My Yo Yo, will finally get released in the US this August via Crunchy Frog/Rykodisc. For those keeping score at home, that’s a full two years after its initial release everywhere else around the globe.
Junior Senior’s ‘Can I Get Get Get’ was featured in a recent episode of ‘Ugly Betty’, while ‘Itch U Can’t Skratch’ is currently being used in a campaign for Logo network. Both tracks are lifted from Hey Hey, which probably had a great deal to do with the record garnering some much-deserved attention this side of the Atlantic.

that’s the title of junior senior’s new album.
it has only been released in japan, so if you are anywhere else in the world, you’re gonna have to pay an arm and a leg to get it on import!
(maybe i have a thing for albums that are thoroughly hard to/impossible to purchase, for one reason or another)
anyway, it’s more of the same fun you are used to from their spectacular and thrilling debut, D-D-Don’t Stop The Beat.
this time we get some background singers taking over and allowing junior & senior to sit back for a while and err, drop the beat once again.
here’s a track for you to bop your head to.
consider it a friday treat.
woops, i forgot that i saw junior senior too in the not-so-distant past.
that was really fun, their new album is going to be the most fun thing EVER. no release date yet but keep an ear out…
i also wanted to post this picture of shirley manson simply because she is beautiful and SCOTTISH. this shot was taken on their recent US tour.
thoughts on new FRANZ FERDINAND song? easily coulda fit onto first album, right? will it make them supaaaastars or will it be a flop? i think the former.
have a great weekend guys!
