Check out the following quotes from LSF frontman, Tim Harrington, in an interview published on Billboard earlier today:*”We’re not obliged to put more than one record out a year. We can do whatever we want. The band started out as something we did in between classes in college. After that, we played live shows and then put out a record as an afterthought. For the last few, we’ve been busy with other stuff and just didn’t feel like doing another record until we were ready.”
On signing with Sony BMG: “In order for us to survive and grow, we have to step up and this is the record to do it. Frenchkiss has surpassed the ability to get this Les Savy Fav record out to everybody that we want to.”
On the album delay: “I had just had a kid and my mind wasn’t right for it. Over the holidays, I’d hide away in a spare room and spread out 500 index cards that had fragments of lyrical ideas but couldn’t punch anything out.”
Let’s Stay Friends is due out on September 18th. Learn more about the forthcoming record, including complete track listing, here.
Right now we only have confirmation about LSF teaming up with LCD Soundsystem and The Arcade Fire at October’s Randall’s Island gig, but I wouldn’t be surprised if James, Win and rest of both gangs take Les Savy Fav along for multiple dates on the North American trek.
