We’re stuck in the dog days of summer here in America, especially over in New York City where the heat has reached record levels. Maybe you think you can grin and bear 105 degrees but trust me, “It’s not the heat, it’s the Uuumidity!” Also, did you know that if the whole world lived like we do in New York, we could all fit into the state of Texas? That is a lot of sweaty bodies shoving up against you on the subway.
So what to do when the heat has got you down? Distract yourself with a summertime playlist, duh. And we have the perfect addition- Letting Up Despite Great Faults. The LA group is based around the songs of founding member Mike Lee, who writes them as a “sonic diary.” Their new e.p., Paper Crush, will be released on August 2nd on Old Flame Records and features two singles, ‘Sophia in Gold’ and ‘Teenage Tide.’ Both are ethereal, electro tracks, with ‘Teenage Tide’ taking on an early oughts feel.
