So I finally got my hands on Martha Wainwright’s record after promising myself that I’d get it after I heard her performance on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic (you can stream that performance here). I’m a big fan of Rufus, and I didn’t think that I’d enjoy this as much, but actually, it’s really quite The Tops. Especially when you get such raw and utterly brazen song titles as the excellent Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole. Which is also a great, great song. Play it very loud indeed….
Martha Wainwright – Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole.
I guess it comes up pretty entertainingly if you have MSN’s ‘What I’m Listening To’ feature turned on…
Well, actually, I quite like modern life, but Blur used to hate it. I’ve been listening to Modern Life is Rubbish a bit this week, perhaps as a result of all the Gorillaz/Albarn discussions we’ve been having here on The Music Slut. And I love it, really really love it. And that’s all I really have to say about that, although I shall also throw in Starshaped, a record of Blur on the road at about that time, and slowly self-destructing.
