Oh my goodness. NME has the full story. Here’s a direct quote from Courtney Love: *”I can’t believe anyone would take Kurt’s ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I’m suicidal. If I don’t get them back I don’t know what I’ll do. They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again.”*
We’re in utter shock.

Patti tells Spinner: “I always wanted to do a covers album, but I didn’t really feel I had the range to do the kind of album I wanted to do… As the project evolved, a lot of the songs on the [original] list didn’t make the final cut, and a lot of songs that I didn’t plan on doing wound up being the ones I chose. They’re all special to me for different reasons. But Nirvana was the most emotional experience.”
See below for the official video of her take on ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’. Is it better or worse than Tori’s version? In case you forgot, last month we gave Patti’s cover of The Decemberists’ ‘Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect’ the slutty seal of approval.
Deceased rock royalty Kurt Cobain, Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone and Sid Vicious are all being used in a new print/poster campaign across the UK for famous footwear designer, Dr. Martens.
Punk News reports that Dr. Martens said the following about the new ads: “We wanted to communicate that Dr. Martens boots are ‘made to last,’ and we discovered that these idolized musicians wore them. Showing them still wearing their Docs in heaven dramatized the boots’ durability perfectly. And, as images, they feel very iconic.”
Check out Joe Strummer in his Docs to your right; to view all the associated images, hop over to Oh No They Didn’t.
