AEW reports: *Paul McCartney was turned down by Thom Yorke when he asked for a collaboration with Radiohead. According to The Sun former Beatle Paul McCartney approached TY with a view to collaborating, but his request was turned down. Paul McCartney, who recorded with longtime RH producer Nigel Godrich on his album ‘Chaos & Creation In The Backyard’, explained TY wasn’t comfortable playing anybody’s music apart from his own… “My daughter was putting an album together and she put us in touch. I asked Thom to do a duet, but he said he couldn’t because he only felt happy working on his own and Radiohead’s material.”*

Via the always reliable (ahem) New York Post:
Having already proven that it can sell other companies’ music, coffee giant Starbucks is planning to launch its own record label and is close to a deal for the next album from former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney to be its first release, according to sources familiar with the plans.
The formation of Starbucks Records, as the unit is expected to be called, could be announced as soon as this week, according to these sources.
I guess we all knew this was coming, but I never thought Paul McCartney would be the first sell his soul.
Shame on you, mate!
