A couple of years ago, I’m at a party and a friend starts telling me about this amazing band she saw playing in the subway made-up of two girls and a guy. She continued by saying that she’s never done this, but she went up to the band and asked their name- it was Pearl and the Beard. Well, these past years have been good to Pearl and the Beard and tonight, they celebrate the release of their new EP, ‘Black Vessel’ on Family Records, tonight at The Living Room in NYC.

The above video was shot by Sleepover Shows, a small collective who captures three, stripped down, songs from bands travelling through Boston.

Check out this quirky and adorably funny video of Brooklyn band Pearl and the Beard singing a medley of Will Smith’s bigger hits. Though perhaps the most outstanding part about this (beside the singer’s outrageous voice) is the beautifully shot music video itself by Goddamn Cobras Collective. Well done all around.

Pearl and the Beard are currently on tour and tonight play the Red Light Cafe in Atlanta, GA.
