The female collective (which also includes The Long Blondes & Blood Red Shoes amongst a host of other acts) exclaims the following on PETA 2′s official site: *“We are standing up for chicks and urging KFC to adopt basic animal welfare standards that will improve the living and dying conditions for the birds who are unfortunate enough to end up in your buckets. Until that happens we birds agree boycott KFC.”*

Minus the overstated carcass, Shirley Manson is looking quite fabulous, I must say.
Shirley on her decision to get involved with the cause and the ad: “When PETA approached me about this particular campaign, I was really honored to be asked, and I felt like I had a chance to add my voice to the dissent against the way animals can be treated all over the world by all persons.”
To win a full-sized copy of this advertisement as well as various autographed items from Shirley herself, please visit PETA (and learn more about their FUR IS DEAD campaign) here!
When can we expect that solo album, again? I’m waiting with baited breath, Shirley!
