I’ll be honest. Since their rise to fame a few years back, I haven’t been the biggest fan of PB&J. Sure, I adore all of their singles and find them to be quite quirky in their own right, but their full-lengths never struck a chord with me. With that in mind, I’ll be the first to admit that last night’s Webster gig (which focused heavily on Writer’s Block & their new LP: Living Thing) was remarkable, catchy, charming and highly enjoyable. In addition to their own material, the Swedish trio also broke into two covers to close their set. At first, they tackled The Stone Roses’ ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ and then transitioned into a magnificent rendition of Joy Divison’s ‘Transmission’ (complete with Ian Curtis esque stage antics)! Flawless. Try your hardest to catch Peter Bjorn & John on the tail-end of their current North American trek.
