Would you purchase the chair he’s sitting on in the accompanying photo? Here’s some info on the piece: *It’s called Perspective. It was designed by Pharrell in collaboration with Domeau & Pérès who built it and will be making the additional chairs. The chair, as well as another chair design and a table will be part of a show in Paris at the prestigious Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie. The show will be from October 21st 2008 until January 10th 2009. The chairs will be available in a few colors and only 4 of each will be sold. The chair represents the love between a woman and man. Pharrell exclaims: “I had often wondered what it’s like to truly be in love, not lust for once. So I decided not to ask what it was like in someone else’s shoes or what it was like to sit in their seat. I decided to sketch out my own experiment; the perspective chair.”*

All Hip Hop reports: *Pharrell Williams is serving as a consulting producer for Limelight, a new dramatic series to be aired on television network ABC. Limelight follows students and teachers at a performing arts school in New York, similar to the one Williams attended while growing up in Virginia. The series ended up on ABC after an intense bidding war between rival networks like Fox, CW and others. “This project reminded me a lot of my own life growing up, coming from a different environment where we stuck out for having abilities that we later learned, after attending a school like this, were actually gifts and talents,” Williams told Variety. “The moral DNA for this project is that it’s OK to dream, but to bring it to fruition requires hard work.”

One of the executive producer’s of Limelight is McG, who has directed videos for Cypress Hill, Korn, Wyclef Jean, Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth. He has also produced TV shows like Fastlane, The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll and the upcoming Untitled Matt Cirulnick/McG Project. “Pharrell is the ultimate embodiment of credibility in this space,” McG added. “He attended a performing arts high school and went on to become the most prolific producer of our generation.” Limelight, which is still in development with network, will face a six-figure penalty if the project does not move forward. Pharrell Williams is a Grammy Award winning rapper/singer/producer, who has created hits for stars like Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Britney Spears, Madonna and others.*

Filter’s got the dirt: *With their upcoming album, The Hives are taking a cue from their own black and white signature outfits. The Black and White Album, will mark the 4th studio release for the Swedish rockers.

Although without an official release date, the album appears to have a little something for everyone. Recorded in various places around the world, the album will feature production from Dennis Herring (of Modest Mouse and Elvis Costello fame), Jacknife Lee and Pharrell Williams.*

Lupe, alongside special guest rappers: Kanye and Pharrell, has just released ‘US Placers’, a brand new track, which samples (of all things) Thom Yorke’s ‘The Eraser’.

Thanks to Spine Magazine for directing The Music Slut to the tune. ‘US Placers’ is scheduled to be on Lupe’s upcoming sophomore effort, The Cool, out on Halloween Day.

For as much as I love Thom (hell, Kanye as well), I’m still uncertain if I enjoy this track in reality as much as I do in theory.
