Uh oh. She explains via MySpace: *Now, some of you may be wondering why I covered ‘Womanizer’ – simple really, I love Britney and I love the song. It wasn’t my intention for it to have whizzed round the world like it has. Mark Ronson asked me for something no one had heard to play on his radio show, and ‘Womanizer’ was the only song I had as an attachment on my Blackberry, and I couldn’t get home to send him anything else in time. I had asked him to talk all over it so it wouldn’t get ripped, but he didn’t. Thanks Mark – for getting me in serious trouble with my record company.*
In addition to last week’s vlog, he’s posted this Battle infused message within today’s MySpace bulletin: *This album was not and never could have been the sequel to The Magic Position. I don’t work like that. I tend to finish one creative rhythm then move onto another with each album. Thus, Battle was not the album that my last label wanted me to be making; I guess I’m not family friendly or conservative enough to play that game, and I am getting a bit more fearless as I grow older. Not really been one to compromise with businessmen in my life, so I thought why should I start now when I’m at my most self confident and passionate about the sound of music that I want to create and explore? So, Universal and I decided to part ways. So with album 4… I’m back in the free world of Independent Music.*

She shares the following words in today’s MySpace bulletin: *I don’t really know what’s going on with it. The record industry is a very political place at the moment and I am on EMI Records. Lots of people have been fired or have taken redundancy recently as the company was taken over by a private equity firm called Terra Firma.* MP3 at bottom.

On Wednesday, we told you about Live At The Hollywood Bowl. Here’s Mozzer’s reaction to the film (via True To You): *The slapdash release of Morrissey’s Live At The Hollywood Bowl is done by Warner without any consultation to me whatsoever, and is in breach of their terms as laid out by themselves in an agreement made for the film between Warner and my ex manager. Being Warner, predictably the sleeve art is appalling. It is the work of cash hounds, and I urge people NOT to buy it. I am not signed to Warner, and no royalties from this DVD will come to me. Please spend your money elsewhere. thank you, MORRISSEY.*
