1. Can you offer any mid-winter fashion tips?

Yes, I’m really into nude. The color of 2010 is nude. Nude leather jackets, nude knits, nude cardigans, nude turtlenecks, nude scarves.

2. How insane is it to play theaters as GaGa’s opening act?

It’s amazing. Even though we’re not a pop act (we’re a filthy rock band with four guys on stage – no dancers or tracks), her audience has been perfect. GaGa’s very fashionable fans are thrilled to watch us!

Over the course of the last 2 years, I must have seen Justin Tranter about a half dozen times. He maintains the perfect balance of glam and garage, Tori Amos and Taking Back Sunday (believe it!), over-the-top and completely sincere.

His second album, and my favorite, Tear Me Together can be purchased here!

A few months ago, he decided to permanently team up with the members in his backing band to form Semi-Precious Weapons (he’s the blonde guy in the accompanying photo). SPW combine all of what was great about Justin’s work and even throws in a little more. How can you not love a band whose first lyric off of their first EP is ‘I can’t pay my rent but I’m fucking gorgeous’??

Their next show will be at CBGB’s on June 9th. I highly recommend checking it out.
