This is the point in the story where we cut to me 5 whiskys in and dancing like a mad woman at 2 in the morning to one of my favourite bands. It was hot and sweaty and wonderful.
A million times thank you to manager Guy and all of the boys for coming out to play and for making the show so memorable. And, um, sorry about the lack of air conditioning.
Locksley are a band making it on their own without a label. Go and support these guys by purchasing their kickass album, Don’t Make Me Wait, or an adorable t-shirt.
Also, thank you to all of our sponsors for the evening, Filter, Musebox, Cornerstone, Santuary, Parlophone, Trojan and Tree Brain for providing kick ass goodie bags for our guests. We love you!

Jay Drake didn’t need an introduction. He just got up there and did his thing. And from where I was standing, it was awesome.
After the set, he bought me a shot of whisky. Rock on.
Jay showed up sans his lighting specialist. AKA, the boy in the corner with the laptop. But I am pretty sure I saw him in the audience taking pictures. I hate to say it, but I think the show was the better for it. There was less distraction and more focus on Jay and his music.

Thank you to Matt Saturday over at Brooklyn Ski Club for coming out to the show and writing a great review of one of my favourite bands, The Silent Years. While I was in the back drinking too much whisky, he was up front taking some great up close and personal pictures of Josh and the gang (below).

The openers for the evening were the young geniuses of The Midnight Hours. I think it surprised everybody in the audience when a group of youthful college students climbed up on stage and threw so much passion and soul into a performance so good, that it soon became clear it was meant for a bigger stage.
I wish these guys nothing but luck. I am highly anticipating their new album. It’s going to be foot stomping, heart-wrenchingly good.
A thank you is due here to our good friend Erin for taking the first three amazing shots. The last crappy one is mine.
