Photos from The Music Slut’s Spring Fling 3/24: A Brief Smile & The Midnight Hours

Matt chatting with A Brief Smile before the show. Unfortunately, this is the only shot I have of them. They were AMAZING, but I was bit occupied behind the dj booth. For further verification of this, please see Rachael’s post about the show on The Underrated Blog.

The openers for the evening were the young geniuses of The Midnight Hours. I think it surprised everybody in the audience when a group of youthful college students climbed up on stage and threw so much passion and soul into a performance so good, that it soon became clear it was meant for a bigger stage.

I wish these guys nothing but luck. I am highly anticipating their new album. It’s going to be foot stomping, heart-wrenchingly good.

A thank you is due here to our good friend Erin for taking the first three amazing shots. The last crappy one is mine.

Merci Beaucoup!

Thanks to all of you for making our Spring Fling, last night, such a huge success. All the bands – Locksley, The Silent Years, A Brief Smile, Cassettes Won’t Listen & The Midnight Hours – sounded fantastic and it was so great to meet new friends and greet the old ones as well.

We hope you had as big a blast as we did!

These sluts love ya.

XO,
m & j

Spring Fling Updates: DJ, Drinks, Charity

Brad Walsh: My HeroWe have some pretty awesome updates about this Saturday’s show at The Delancey in NYC.

First off, DJ/Singer/Photographer/Awesome person Brad Walsh has volunteered his cut-throat dj services for the night. Brad will be spinning until 11ish when he will be replaced by a couple of drunk sluts.

Second, drinks. From 8-9pm well drinks are 2-4-1, yum. From Midnight until the last band ends, PBRs are $3 and after the last band, drinks are going back on sale at buy one get one free. Awesome. I strictly drink whiskey sours when I host, just to let you know.

Lastly, Matt and I will be donating a portion of our profits for the night to City Harvest, a great organisation here in New York, so come out and show your support!:
City Harvest aims to both feed the hungry and curb waste. The organization retrieves excess food from all over the New York City and delivers it to community food programs throughout the five boroughs. You can volunteer to help pick-up and deliver food. www.cityharvest.org
