Can you believe the Britpopperes are already ten years old? Well, it’s true.
The Tripwire reports that as a celebration of this glorious feat, the band has decided to release a DVD compilation entitled Rewind, out April 2nd. The DVD will feature early footage, interview clips with Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher and Bono amongst others. It will also delve into the progression of the band from kids to record deal signees to eventually becoming superstars with their first #1 single.
As far as their next record, the band tells Tripwire that it’s ‘in your face and the biggest sound we’ve ever had on a record. It took us a long time to find ourselves and how we truly wanted to sound, and I think we’ve got pretty close to that with this album.’ The predicted release date for the new LP is fall ’07.
Via ContactMusic: STEREOPHONICS rocker KELLY JONES has been fined after police caught him urinating in public on a London street. The welsh singer was caught out while relieving himself during a recent night out in Camden and tried, unsuccessfully, to talk himself out of trouble. He reveals, “I said to the copper, ‘You telling me you never had a p**s in the street?’ He said that the people of Camden wouldn’t appreciate me urinating on their streets. I said, ‘I know that, that’s why I live in Fulham.’ He said, ‘I’m taking you in.’”
In other Kelly Jones news, he has just confirmed to NME that he is working on his first solo venture which should be out sometime this summer!
