Today’s message from Asthmatic Kitty reads: *At the spurring of Bryce Dessner (of The National fame), Sufjan obligingly handed over his eight year old album to composers Michael Atkinson, Olivier Manchon, Maxim Moston, Nico Muhly, Rob Moose, and Gabriel Kahane, who then re-arranged the album for strings. Osso, a quartet you might recognize from several Asthmatic Kitty releases (Illinois, My Brightest Diamond’s Bring Me The Workhorse) comprise the album’s players, and they are at their best here. Entitled Run Rabbit Run, the community-borne album also includes artwork from Jessica Dessner. We are releasing the album on October 6.*
Earlier this year, he wrote a Sofia Coppola inspired tune.
