i bet that iceland looks good on the dancefloor…

So it’s all over the interweb, but this is like soooooooooo much better than the Arctic Monkeys’ recording:

Sugababes: I bet that you look good on the dancefloor (blatantly stolen mp3 from The Rich Girls Are Weeping)

Especially the vocoder treated ‘look like a robot from 1984′. This is what happens when you put top pop tunage in the hands of someone with proper pop sensibility. Pity it’s just a b-side, imagine the awesomtacularity if it had been a proper single…

Seriously awesome stuff. Maybe the Monkeys could just write occasional b-sides for chart toppers?

RKK1Speaking of joy-pop-goodness, tonight I’m off to see Iceland’s number one girl group Nylon. Yes, Iceland. Where they’re so popular, they’ve prevented Robbie Williams from getting to number one. In Iceland.

Here’s a song I nicked from their website. It’s in Icelandic:

Nylon: Dans Dans Dans

Publicity from their website:

Nylon are a hugely successful number one selling girl group from Reykjavik, Iceland. In the 18 months they have been together they have already had two number one albums and one fully loaded number one selling DVD as well as an incredible seven number one singles and are constantly on heavy rotation in icelandic radio. They have had their own TV series and have been active in raising awareness and funds for children with cancer in Iceland. [Sounds a bit like Sclub to me! Yay!]

Both their first and second album went straight into number one on release date. Ironically they beat Robbie Williams to the top spot in December 05 – 12 months on from their last album which also beat Mr Williams into 2nd place, an unheard of feat in most countries across the globe. [That's only ironic if you're Alanis Morissette]

Alma, Camilla, Emilia and Klara have the voices, the looks and the charisma needed to take the world by storm and are currently putting the finishing touches to their first English language album which is due for international release in late summer ’06. [Roll on late summer 'o6!]

They’re managed by Atomic Kitten’s boss! How can they not be good? Not only this – but they’re hot. And they’re coming to Fife for no apparent reason.

Hurrah!
