Has anyone else heard of Henry Rollins’s new show on IFC? Apparently it’s a talk show type thing. I find Rollins very strange and a little disturbing though, I guess he seems like a nice man.
Anyway, for any of you Pixies fans, Frank Black will be on the show this Saturday at 10pm est, 7pm PST, and again 1AM/10PM. He’s expected to appear with Moris Tepper, rumor has it, the two of them performing ‘I Burn Today.’ Next week is Ozzy Osbourne and Ben Folds.
Speaking of independent film channels. Sundance has started to play City of Men, the Brazilian tv show by the directors of the amazing film City of God- Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardener) and Kátia Lund. I missed the first episode, but tonight’s is already set to record. They will be playing all three completed seasons, the fourth and final season is still playing and filming in Brazil.
From the Sundance site: Set in the present day, the series mixes comedy and drama as it follows the struggles, schemes, and dreams of Acerelo (Douglas Silva) and Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha), thirteen year-old best friends trying to lead normal lives in an impoverished favela.
