According to Ars Technica:
Once upon a time, [Simmons] explained, there was a farmer, who noticed that a baby fox was taking an egg from the chicken coop.
The farmer couldn’t kill it; the fox was too cute.
“But that little fox went back with a free egg,” Simmons warned, “and told all the other little foxes about it, and then the foxes overran the farm, killed all the chickens, took all the eggs, and didn’t pay for it.”
“Now the farmer lost his farm. His wife divorced him and went with another farmer who was smarter. The kids ran off because the spineless farmer didn’t have enough sense to kill the fox. The trucks that delivered the chickens—they’re all out of business. The stores that sold them—they’re out of business.”
“Why?” Simmons declared. “Because of one goddamn cute little fox. So don’t let any cute little foxes get near your henhouse!”
Kiss frontman Gene Simmons’ contorted analogy is apparently a parable about the importance of “suing the bastards” who download music via p2p, bittorrent, etc. (Read the article)
Antony & The Johnsons’ latest, Swanlights is streaming over at the Graun and also at NPR’s First Listen. Haven’t had a chance to have a go of this yet, but it’s bound to be something pretty exciting – and typically challenging. Keep an eye on the Graun’s music site as they’ll be turning the editing chair over to Antony for a week, beginning 11th October.

The Graun has a great interview with Belle & Sebastian about forthcoming LP …Write About Love today. Obviously this is going to be one of THE MOST ANTICIPATED RECORDS of 2010. I mean, I am anticipating like a bastard over it, and believe you me, that’s a hell of a lot of anticipating.

“And it sort of worked in a way because it absolutely got what we wanted on the song – this nervy guy, and the girl [Norah Jones] knows exactly what she wants. And obviously she’s Miss Million Pounds, she’s duetted with fucking everybody.”
“Yes,” says Geddes. “She’s got a whole album of duets to prove it. You’re just another fucking notch on her duet post.”

What’s one more streaming album preview to add to all those you spent the weekend catching up on? Especially when it’s the brand new “radio-friendly” follow up to Journal for Plague Lovers by the Manic Street Preachers, which is playing over at the Guardian (and via we7.com).
